Plan B Skateboards

Skateboarding has been a popular hobby throughout the years, but skateboarding really began to hit a golden age in the late 1980s and early 1990s. These were the days before so called xtreme sports could be watched on TV or xtreme sporting tours hit the suburbs. In these days, skateboarding was a little bit rebellious and a little bit off the beaten track - skaters were considered to be the ultimate in cool and style. One of the companies that was a landmark part of this period in skateboarding history was Plan B. The company was started by a group of pro skateboarders and quickly became a favorite of skateboarding enthusiasts everywhere. The success of the company was short lived, however. An internal dispute between the owners of the company lead to a division in the leadership, with some of the skaters involved leaving to start their own company, Girl Skateboards. Then, in 1994, one of the founding members was killed in a car crash. The operations of the company ground to a halt, but the name Plan B skateboards lived on in skating lure.

Fast forward to the early 2000s and skateboarding is really in its heyday. Xtreme sports are now an acknowledged and respected part of sports world, and skateboarding has become big business. In 2005, the remaining founding members of Plan B decided it was time to get back into the game again, and they re-launched their famous brand. Plan B skateboards quickly became a fan favorite again, with a new generation eager for their chance to get a piece of skating history and their own deck with a Plan B logo.
